What does the Unit Secretary do?

This position supports our Nursing department by greeting, screening, and routing callers and visitors to the facility, and executing administrative tasks such as: 

• Payroll and billing for the Nursing department
• Setting up and breaking down medical charts
• Ordering and stocking supplies
• Scheduling and staffing oversight
• Data collection for quality assurance and performance improvement efforts

We prefer previous administrative assistant experience with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams. We anticipate a starting wage of $18/hour if no experience.

A great candidate meets the following criteria:

• Great interpersonal skills, collaborating with various disciplines within and outside of the Nursing department as well as interacting with persons served and their loved ones
• Very organized, self-directed and able to multi-task
• Creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills

This position primarily works 8am-4pm Saturday and Sunday, approximately 16 hours per week. We have some flexibility in start and end times. This is a temporary position that will end on September 4th.
